Hi! I’m Julie Marie, a singer-songwriter and community musician in the greater Chicago area. I write dreamy indie-folk music that seeks beauty, truth, and faithfulness.

My debut album The Gardens Below is out now. This project explores a core question: In the face of power and influence being misused, what can we do? My answer: We faithfully tend to our gardens. Through kindness, forgiveness, and telling truthful stories about what is painful and beautiful, we can bring meaningful and redemptive work into the world.

In tandem with my work as a singer-songwriter, performer, and recording artist, I love creating hospitable music-making spaces in my local community and beyond. I facilitate compassionate and flexible music workshops and classes for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. I believe music is for everyone.
